#Np: Oh The Power by Kari Jobe

My song of the week is “Oh the Power” by Kari Jobe. It’s from her new album The Garden.

Weird thing about this song is I’ve had it for some time now, but I’ve been doing “jump and pass” (lol, to “jump and pass” is to change a song to the next song when your shuffle plays it. Get it?), because I didn’t “feel” the song but I didn’t delete it (usually I delete any song I’m not feeling almost immediately after downloading), Maybe it was for a day like this. Who knows? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyways, as I was communing with the Father today, my playlist was going on in the background and Miracles, a song in the same album which I absolutely love, had just finish playing, then “Oh the power” played.

As usual, I reached out to my phone to jump and pass but then I heard this part:

There on the hill, You surrendered Your will

For they know not what they do

Grief in Your heart, Your hands bear the scars

Of a love that led You to the tomb

            Calvary, where heaven met me”

And I don’t know what happened but something happened and I played the song all over and listened to every word in the song and the dam broke.😩😭 (lol) I literally could feel the pain Jesus went through for me on the cross and how much he loved me. I just remained like that praying in the sprit…

Imagine loving someone yet that love led to your death! But regardless you still love the person, even when the person says “I have my life to live” or “I don’t believe you really died for me and my sins”

It also reminded me of when I wrote this post about the crucifixion that was for a spoken word competition I entered for, I didn’t know what to write at that time for the competition and I asked Jesus for help. I recall that I had a dream afterwards where I was literally taken to the place of crucifixion, Golgotha I mean, I saw everything, the people mocking him, the cross, everything! and that was the inspiration of that post.

Listening to this song today was different. It was really one of those moments you get as a believer and you just know Jesus got you and that he is indeed real. I am unashamed to say that JESUS IS THE LOVER OF MY SOUL. ❤️❤️

Oh, the great power of the cross! The lyrics of this song is soo deep. Weldone Kari Jobe, this Garden Album is fayyaaaaa! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

            Enjoy:

Knees to the earth that You breathed by Your word

As You watched the darkness come

Crushed by the weight of the cost as You prayed

Not my will but Yours be done

            Gethsemane, where heaven met me

            Redeemer, crowned in endless praise

My Savior, name above all names

King Jesus, take the highest place

There on the hill You surrendered Your will

“For they know not what they do”

Grief in Your heart, Your hands bear the scars

Of a love that led You to the tomb

            Calvary, where heaven met me

            Redeemer, crowned in endless praise

My Savior, name above all names

King Jesus, take the highest place
Oh the power of the cross

Oh the power of Your blood

Oh the power of the cross

Oh the power of Your blood

Oh darkness, You have lost Your strength

            O hell, you lost everything

King Jesus, take the highest place

            Redeemer, crowned in endless praise

My Savior, name above all names

King Jesus, take the highest place

Oh the power of the cross

Oh the power of Your blood

Oh the power of the cross

Oh the power of Your blood
