#LessonOfTheWeek: I give my all to the poor, yet you say I have no love?

Weeeeekeeennndd!! *Doing my weekend dance* Wait do I have a weekend dance? (lol)

I’m just excited it’s Friday and that means its weekend! Yaaas! (like you didn’t already know that).

First off, how are yall doing?

As I was typing this post I realized I don’t exactly have a relationship with most of the followers of this blog (except people I know personally) which is really wrong. I’m ashamed of myself. I should be.

Please lets get to know each other. People can make important connections from social media, and I think WE (All of you, beautiful blog followers and I) are not fully maximizing this opportunity. This blog isn’t just for me to come and talk write and go. It’s to connect with all of you. Sometimes, I feel like I’m talking to myself even though I know it’s not true. *sobs* *grabs tissue*

I want to know all of you! Yes everyone, even the silent viewers, I hear they call them ghost readers; you know those ones who read and refuse to comment or like or EVEN SHARE, even though they were actually blessed by the post? Yes, those ones. Please say no to GHOSTING (lol). I see the stats. I know you’re reading. *eagle eye mode activated* Haaha!

All I’m trying to say is please let’s engage each other, if you are a blogger, you could drop a link to your blog, and we’ll all visit! Please introduce yourselves in the comment section. If you see a post you like, drop a comment or like (if you’re shy) or at last share the link with your social media. You can reach me anytime fadekke@ymail.com if you have anything you want to discuss or any spiritual issues you need help with, Lets grow together, Lets bond.

*Whew* I needed to get that off my chest. Now Lets talk.

Earlier in the week, the Holyspirit taught me something so great about 1 Corinthians 13. I never ever expected it. He taught me on what love is NOT.

So I said Wow, but how can someone give their bodies to be burned for others yet you say they have no love? How can they give ALL their goods to the poor yet you say they have no love? Is that really possible? Can someone be so zealous, so kind and still have no love?

We (the holy spirit and I) were having a conversation about how the kind of man husband material I crave is a man that is emotionally connected with me and how we will be emotionally connected to God. We also talked about how fornication is NOT acceptable no matter how unintentional and I was talking about how I crave a love so deep the ocean would be jealous (haha).

We also talked about how fornication is NOT acceptable

Then I asked him: Why is the world telling me I won’t keep a man if I decide not to engage in any form of fornication (even kissing) with him at all before marriage? Why are we now like this in this generation? Why have we replaced soul intimacy with physical intimacy? Dear holyspirit, why can’t we say no to ALL forms of immorality? It is not love right? Is it love??

But, He was trying to teach me from the bigger picture, He had something bigger in mind so He finally said. To know what something is you have to first find out what that thing is not.

Then it clicked in my head. “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing” (1 Corithians 13: 1-3)

He replied, because God is love.

Yes, I know God is love. So?

God is love.

Then it dawned on me. God is love! God is love! So if you do not have God, you do not have love.

If you do not have God, you cannot understand love. If you do not have God, you cannot love.

I suddenly got the point! You might be a lover of men, a man of the people, a human rights activist, a philanthropist, a moralist, a political activist, you might love to defend the rights of others, you might be a women advocacy agent, an anti-domestic violence advocate, you might be passionate about other people’s troubles, you might be Mandela or Marylyn Monroe but if you do not have God, you have no love and you are nothing. All these do not really matter if you do not have God! If you give to the poor simply because you think its right it doesn’t equal love. If you do not have God through Jesus Christ, you have nothing!

So you might be a tongue-speaking brother/sister or a prophesying general overseer, but if you do not have the genuine spirit of God deeply seated in your heart, you do not have God and hence, no love. So you become the shaft amongst the wheat, the weed amongst the plant, that why Jesus said “I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity

With God comes love, genuine, true and pure love and with love comes every other thing. When you find and dwell in the love of the father, then you can find a real soulmate that also dwells in the love of the father, then you can live life following peace with all men, then you can treat people right, then you can understand how love is patient and kind, How love does not behave itself unseemly, how love endures all things. Its easy to know what love is by definition but without the father you will never understand HOW true love really works.

Its easy to know what love is by definition but without the father you will never understand HOW true love really works.

God is calling on to us to show us love, to experience genuine love, so that we will give out love to the world, so that we can teach the world what love is. He’s calling on us through his son Jesus Christ. Please lets come to him.

Amazing!

  1. Amazing write up I am truly blessed. How can you speak in tongues and not still have love, You need the holy spirit to be able to speak in tongues and the bible says the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts. Is it possible to have the holy spirit and not walk in love. Thanks, God bless u.
