“THANK YOU JESUS! SATAN, YOU JUST GOT YOUR BUTT KICKED!” YES!!! YOU JUST GOT SERVED! Partly because, I am finally posting something even after I promised to be consistent with posts (I’m so sorry guys, how yall doing?) and partly because this is what Ms. Clara said (in her kitchen) when Tony Jordan of War Room was saved!! Whooooooop!
So, I decided that since I’m a big movie and book lover, I might as well share my thoughts on stuff that I watch and read and tell you what to expect from it, SPOILER ALERT?? LOL nooooo, *side eye* it’s just like a make-up review and hair review and restaurant review and all those other reviews we see on blogs these days. And Does it hinder you from buying the product or service? Nopppee. I thought so too.
Today we’re doing a movie review, a lot of people I know have seen this movie but if you haven’t, (youre stale oh) this one’s for you. Even if you have its still for you, you can share your lessons learnt in the comment section. I did not find any Nigerian blog that does a movie or book review so I couldn’t learn how these kinds of reviews are done, so it might be a little rusty. But let’s do this.

Plot according to Wikipedia
Tony (T.C. Stallings) and Elizabeth Jordan (Priscilla Shirer) have a big house, a beautiful daughter, and plenty of money. Despite their apparent success, they face a strained marriage. Tony, a pharmaceutical salesman, is almost never there for his daughter, Danielle (Alena Pitts); has been verbally abusive with Elizabeth; and has thoughts about cheating on his wife with other women he has been looking at.
Elizabeth, a realtor, goes to work with the elderly Miss Clara (Karen Abercrombie) to sell her house. Miss Clara senses the stress Elizabeth is under, and suggests that Elizabeth fight for their marriage by praying for Tony. Miss Clara shows Elizabeth a special closet she has dedicated to praying, and calls it her “War Room” because as she puts it, “In order to stand up and fight the enemy, you need to get on your knees and pray.” As Elizabeth starts to seriously pray for her husband, Tony is away on a business trip but is having dinner with a beautiful woman who invites him back to her apartment. Just as he is about to leave with her, he becomes nauseous and runs to the bathroom to throw up.
What type of person would enjoy this movie: EVERYBODY that is married, intending to marry, supposed-to-be-married, was married and hoping to be married.
3rd favourite scene: when Elizabeth said her prayer life cannot be described as hot or cold “I’m somewhere in between, I don’t have time to pray that much” smh!!! and then Miss Clara gives her a lukewarm coffee which she couldn’t drink because it was disgusting. Miss Clara showed her exactly what being neither hot nor cold for Jesus means (and what he will do to the lukewarm Christians) with that coffee. (Revelations 3:16)
2nd Favorite scene: when Elizabeth finally gets awakened and speaks to the devil. Let me give you guys a sneak peak, she goes “DEVIL, YOU HAVE HAD YOUR WAY LONG ENOUGH. NO MORE!! YOU’RE DONE! JESUS IS THE LORD OF THIS HOUSE AND THAT MEANS THERE’S NO PLACE FOR YOU HERE!” OMG! This part was toooooo LIT. I was like osheyyyyyyy!
Fadekemi, But Why and how was she talking to the devil??? Go and watch and find out for yourself. *tongue out*
Best scene: The scene miss Clara said her closing statement: “RAISE AN ARMY OF BELIEVERS WHO HATE TO BE LUKEWARM, RAISE AN ARMY THAT WOULD NOT COMPROMISE UNDER PRESSURE, RAISE WARRIORS OH LORD!” What a perfect end, I thought to myself.
One character I couldn’t relate to: Tony’s friend. (His role was one kind)
Would I watch again? Definitely! (But not anytime soon because I’ve seen the movie more than once already haha)
My take: I loved the movie! as a believer I was so motivated after seeing the movie the first time and there and then I decided it was time to become a warrior and stop SLEEPING!I also loved the fact that the female character was very relatable and the characters were not acting all holier than thou like the usual kind of christian movies they do in Nigeria (no offense, I like Nigerian movies, I’m just saying)
- Marriage is not beans! Lol its not for children, its not something you just go into because you think you’re of age or because you think you’re in love. Faaaaaaam! You better be ready to WAR. Which is why you have to be a warrior (spiritual) before you get married (both husband and wife ohhh) Lol a lot of people think the wedding is the end to their struggles and then they relent after marriage, it is the BEGINNING of the end, so be ready to FIGHT if you want to stay married. (if we all determine our heart on the fact that there’s no OUT in marriage, once you’re in. YOU’RE IN. then there’ll be less divorces) And its not only the wives that should fight in the home, the husbands too even the children, we all have a role to play.
- Nobody deserves anything in this life, you fight for what you want.
- You would indeed move mountains just by speaking to it if you BELIEVE! (yall need to see how miss Clara commanded a thief to drop his knife in the name of Jesus, ahhhhhh toooo lit)
I could go on and on but nahhh. Go see the movie!
